Meet your Instructor.

Hello! My name is Steve Slone.

I learned to waterski at the age of 4 and began competing at 13, when I won the Kansas state championship.

At a young age, I made my professional debut by skiing in the Lake of the Ozarks Water Thrill Show.

By 18, I had launched my career as a professional waterski instructor, giving lessons in Kansas. That same year, I started working full-time as a pro skier during the summers for the Fort of the Osage water show, where I was honored as the most valuable skier for three consecutive years.

At 20, I attended Northeast Louisiana University (now the University of Louisiana at Monroe), where I skied on two national championship teams as part of one of the most successful collegiate waterski programs in history.

At 25, I began an exciting chapter at Marine World/Africa USA, performing in their renowned water ski shows for 10 years. At 30, I was selected as the lead skier—a prestigious role I held for four years.

In 2000, I joined Sea World of Florida, continuing my professional skiing career.

Most recently, in 2023, I took over the family ski school that my dad had successfully run for the previous 7 years.

This journey has been an incredible ride—from early competitions in Kansas to performing in major shows and championships across the country. I'm proud of every flip, jump, and lesson along the way! And, I am happy that I get to continue doing what I love by instructing visitors to the Branson, Missouri area.
